Mingo multifunctional toy by Educational Toy Design

Kind + Jugend 2013 in Cologne opened yesterday and showcased the innovation and extraordinary design available in new products for babies and children, with the presentation of the Kind + Jugend Innovation Awards. Stand-out products organised in eight categories embraced multi-functionality and sustainability, two strong themes at the fair.

The Greentom Upp buggy by Dutch manufacturer Greentom Operations, which was awarded first place in the category World Moving Baby, impressed the international team of judges with its sustainable production process. This simple buggy is made entirely from recycled plastic, can be produced and assembled locally, and can be recycled again.

The Mingo multifunctional toy by Educational Toy Design won the award in the category World of Baby Toys, tapping into the trend towards products that transform. The toy challenges the child’s construction skills and can be made into a car, scooter, horse or chair with six components.

The Evolu highchair by Belgian manufacturer Childhome-Aerts came out top in World of Baby Furniture with its contemporary styling and functionality. The seat height can be adjusted to three different positions and adapted to the child's changing requirements.
