Hotel O: Colourful nights in Paris

French designer and architect Ora Ito has designed the new Hotel O, a retro-futuristic hotel situated in the heart of Paris. The 29 bedrooms explore the whole chromatic spectrum, with each floor hosting four or five rooms in the same colour group. Yet each one is painted and upholstered in its own unique shade, thus participating in the creation of a graded path that runs throughout the building.

Few angles are left visible in the bedrooms, as the designer wanted the lines to appear fluid and soft - a tribute to Stanley Kubrick's iconic space ship Discovery One in 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968). Even the names of the three types of rooms - Galileo, Odissey, and Cocoon - refer to science-fiction.

The project is a collaboration between the designer and hotel group Elegancia Hotels.
