Furniture and accessories with tufted edges, fringing or fur upholstery is a key emerging trend that was seen at last month's Maison&Objet fair in Paris. We spotted these furry, scifi-esque creations by young French designers USIN-e in the Talents à la Carte section of Hall 7.

Affectionately named 'PAPA', the collection features stools and containers that are made from oak wood upholstered with a mix of horse hair and synthetic fibres currently available in a choice of three colours: bright blue, white or brown.

The bristles are deceptively soft to the touch and were created in collaboration with expert brush makers Brosserie Julio from Nantes in France, who asked USIN-e to design a set of innovative products that incorporated their carefully crafted bristle brush technique.
